Hello....again!

Wow! My world has been completely rocked! Life is so crazy with two kids. I thought that things would change but I could never have imagined how much. Little Lexi finally made her grand entrance into the world and I blinked and then she just turned 6 mths. old. I cannot believe it. She has definitely been a handful and so much more needy than Jake ever was as a baby. But I think that it also has to do with the fact that now we have two children that constantly need something, day and night. We are adjusting well as a family of four, just takes some getting used to. Jake is an awesome big brother! He is so caring and gentle with his baby sister. He loves to see her do and learn new things. Now that Lexi is more mobile and getting ready to start crawling she is much happier. She is obviously working on her first tooth, because she is chewing on everything! I am getting so excited about the upcoming holidays. I am trying to de-stress and just enjoy life with my wonderful babies!!

Counting Down...

I am definitely starting to count down the weeks and days until Lexi gets here! I am now getting to the point where I am pretty miserable feeling most of the day. I can still work ok, but am getting pretty slow. I have been having some pain on my right side, that I think is round ligament pain...but sometimes it is so sharp that I cannot walk and I just have to sit or lay down for a while.
We are nowhere near having Lexi's room ready though. I have bought the paint, but that is as far as we have gotten. I can't wait to get in there and really start to make the room look pretty! We have a long way to go, but I hope once we get started it will get down quickly! We have to clean out the room, paint, put a new fan up, get new carpet put in, assemble all of the furniture, and mom has to finish the bedding and curtains. That sounds like so much, but I know it will get done eventually.
I really only have about 6.5-7.5 weeks left, depending on whether we do a C-section or not. Around 35-36 weeks we will probably have an ultrasound done and if we find out that the baby is already big, then we will have a C-section scheduled probably the week before my due date. Anyway, it is definitely getting close so we really have to start getting things ready.
Jake was so cute tonight. We were leaving to go to dinner with friends and I was telling him bye and giving him a kiss on his head because he was eating. But that wasn't good enough for him, he wanted me to kiss him on the lips. And then he said, "kiss Lexi"...so he had to kiss my belly too before I left. I thought that was adorable because that is the first time he has really acknowleged her without me asking him about her or asking him to kiss the baby. I really hope that he will adjust well to her being here. He has such a sweet personality!

Suckers!!!

As I think I've mentioned before, Jake is completely obssessed with suckers, candy and cookies. I really don't know where this came from...but ever since Christmas he has begged for suckers and candy. This really gets to me because I always said that my child would not eat a lot of sugar and would not love candy. Anyway, tonight Wesley asked Jake was he wanted to eat for dinner and Jake replied, "Suckers and candy". Wesley said, "Son, why do you always want candy?" And Jake said "Favorite". I thought this was hilarious and neither one of us were aware that he even knew the word favorite! By the way, I am really impressed with how much Jake is talking now. He is making 4-5 words sentences and can carry on a conversation with anyone. I think it is adorable to hear the things he says! I am hoping the suckers is just a phase because it is driving me crazy and I am obsessively brushing his teeth. He did end up eating a great dinner and it was not suckers and candy!! The first picture below does not have a sucker in it but I am pretty sure that he had just asked for one! :)

PaPa's House

Jake sure does love his PaPa! Mrs. Sharon's house is close to where Wesley and his dad work, so Jake often gets to stop by and see PaPa when he gets picked up in the afternoons. He asks almost everyday if we can go see PaPa. This past weekend we went out to PaPa's house for Uncle Daniel's birthday party. Jake loves going out there. He loves to ride on the four-wheeler and the ranger and play with all of the dogs. Here are some pictures of Jake having fun at PaPa's!

Freezing cold...

Here are some pictures of Jake enjoying the outdoors the other day in the freezing cold!!! We didn't stay outside too long though...we had to come in because Jake would not quit eating the sand!

Potty training...

Jake is beginning to learn how to use the potty! At first I was very excited and tried to take him to sit on the potty every 3o min or so. He did really well at first and was very excited and proud of himself. It is so adorable to hear him say "pee-pee potty Mommy" with a great big, cheesy smile. The doctor told us not to even try with him until he was at least 2 1/2- 3 yrs., but he is the one telling us so I think its ok to start. Anyway, this might prove to be a long, drawn-out process, but one day I know he will get it. Lately, he hasn't had too much interest in telling us before he has to go. It's kind of frustrating though, when we keep catching him right after he has gone in his diaper. I keep saying, Jake you are supposed to tell us before you go in your diaper so you can sit on the potty! I think I need to try harder to give him the opportunity by making it more of a routine. He seems to do well with routines when he knows what is expected of him. Anyway, I'm trying to just go with the flow and let him lead when he is ready...so we'll see how it goes!!!
